Wizkid has never been the same since his mother’s death – Destiny Austine Omon

In a recent interview on Onua Showbiz with host Nana Kwame Gyan, multiple award-winning producer and director Destiny Austine Omon opened up about the changes he has observed in Nigerian superstar Wizkid since the passing of his mother.

Omon, who is also the president of the Nollywood Ghana chapter, expressed his concern over the emotional toll this loss has taken on the artiste.

“I feel the Wizkid I know is not the Wizkid I’m seeing now,” Omon stated, emphasizing that the impact of personal tragedy can significantly alter a person’s demeanor.

He noted, “Ever since he lost his mom, so many things have changed on his side.”

This sentiment resonates with fans who have noticed a shift in Wizkid’s public persona amid ongoing feuds with fellow artiste Davido.

Omon also addressed the ongoing rivalry between the two entertainers, suggesting that the fans are often more embroiled in the drama than the artistes themselves.

“The fact that these two people are not talking, the fans on the media are trying their best to make them talk,” he explained.

“They are even fighting themselves more than these two  celebrities fighting.”

He reassured fans that despite the tension, if Davido and Wizkid were to meet, they would likely share a drink rather than engage in conflict.

“I could beat my chest and say that if Davido and Wizkid meet at the moment, they will still share a bottle and drink,” Omon remarked.

Omon’s observations extend to the nature of the artistes’ interactions on social media, where he believes that any perceived hostility is more playful than serious.

“There’s no way Wizkid has written a song full of insults to Davido, and there’s no way Davido has also done that,” he said.

“They just write things on social media which they feel is just fun.”
