Government increases public sector wage by 10%
A successful negotiation between Labour Union and President John Dramani Mahama has led to a 10 per cent wage increment for public sector workers.

This makes it the second time public sector workers are having a wage hike in less than a year following a 23% adjustment granted by the government in 2024.
The pay increase was meant to cushion workers as a result of the rise in cost of living at the time.
Amid the rising economic challenges, the President secured the support of the workers by personally engaging them to underscore his administration’s commitment to easing the financial burdens of the citizenry.
Abdul Rashid-Hassan Pelpuo, the Minister of Labour, Jobs and Employment, in his announcement said the increment will be effected from March 1, 2025.
