'Why Ken Ofori-Atta? ... All These Hullabaloo Is Needless - Effia MP
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has removed Ken Ofori-Atta, former Finance Minister, from their list of wanted persons.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has removed Ken Ofori-Atta, former Finance Minister, from their list of wanted persons.
According to the OSP, Ken Ofori-Atta is no longer a “wanted fugitive” and this is because the former Minister has informed the office of his voluntary return to Ghana following his medical treatment in the USA.
“…Mr. Ofori-Atta has been removed from the OSP’s list of wanted persons and the OSP ceases to consider Mr. Ofori-Atta a fugitive from justice pending his voluntary return to the jurisdiction circa his stated date…”, the OSP said in an official statement.
He wondered why the Special Prosecutor would hold a press conference over Ken Ofori-Atta without first engaging in thorough investigations stressing "what Ghanaians are interested in is your findings from your investigations", not "you are about to investigate him".
He therefore asked why the Special Prosecutor doesn't subject all persons cited for corruption by his office to similar treament that it has meted out to Ken Ofori-Atta.
"Why Ken Ofori-Atta? What is special about him?", he queried.
In his estimation, all "this whole hulabaloo is needless".
"It is unnecessary. It is just making noise in Ghana which is not necessary for us and at the end of the day the Office of Special Prosecutor should help us to benefit from it or else by the end of the seven years when the story of the Special Prosecutor is written, it will become a much ado about nothing", he concluded.
